| Description: We have quadrupled our inventory of Element Labs Versa TUBEs. We offer 1m and 2m lengths of the standard definition tubes that feature 16 zones of RGB resolution per 1m tube. These versatile fixtures can create linear motion effects around video screens, along runways and platforms or along trusses and towers. Versa TUBEs can also be arranged in grids and other formations to create dynamic arrays and scenic elements.
We have also added two sizes of Element Labs Versa TILEs to our rental stock. We offer the 40" 10x10 LED panel and the 20" 5x5 LED panel. The large panel offers 100 zones of RGB resolution and the small panel offers 25 zones of resolution.
These flexible modules can be combined to create cubes, strips, walls and proscenium arches. They can also be used to create fascias for risers, counters, trussing and other set pieces. They ship with square lenses but can be order with circle lenses.
Both the Versa TUBEs and Versa TILEs can be controlled in a variety of ways. The full-size Versa DRIVE D2 video processor offers real-time mapping of a live video DVI input such as an Axon or Catalyst media server, DVD player or another video source.
The Versa DRIVE C1 compact controller allows for simple DMX control of RGB channels for neon-style glowing effects and simple playback of low-res video and graphics files stored on a compact flash card. The C1 controller also allows RGB colors to be added to or subtracted from the media files.

| Description: We have recently added Philips/ColorKinetics iWhiteBlast TR units to our rental stock. These units feature 2 zones of white LEDs offering a variable color temperature from 3200K to 5000K. These fixtures ship with a 22 degree frosted lens, but can be ordered with a 10 degree clear lens. These fixtures make great keylights, footlights, strobes, crowd blinders and even general house lights. The iWhiteBlasts use the same City Theatrical power/data supplies as the RGB units. All of our 12 Blast fixtures can be ordered in either 6-unit Pelican packs with or without PDS-375/750 units or 24 unit touring kits with dual PDS-750 units.
We have also expanded our 6" RGB inventory to include black ColorBurst 6 units with frosted lens on custom mounts. These mounts offer both floor stand and clamp mount options and a 4-pin pass through. Our white ColorBurst 6 fixtures feature a white tripod base with waterproof 50" cord for easy floor mounting.

| Description: We have recently doubled our inventory of Philips/CK ColorBlaze 48 LED striplights. These units feature 8 zones of RGB control.
We have also tripled our stock of ColorBlast 12 RGB fixtures and upgraded all of them to TR models. The TR model of the blast 12 features a 6' 4-Pin XLR tail, a clamp-friendly base, a protective rubber lens boot and swappable lenses. Our fixtures come stock with the 22 degree frost lens, but can be ordered with the 10 degree clear lens for a 30% increase in output.
We have also added more power/data supplies from City Theatrical. The PDS-375 model powers 6 fixtures and the PDS-750 powers 12 fixtures. We offer optional wireless DMX control of the PDS-375 units. These units can run stand-alone scenes and effects or be controlled via DMX-512 from a lighting console. They feature an internal mini-ZAPI for quick and easy fixture addressing.

| Description: We have added a HES/FPS Road Hog Full Boar console to our rental stock. This console runs the Wholehog III operating software and features 4 internal universes of DMX output, 12 internal universes of Art-Net output, dual 12" color touchscreens, and a DVD-RW drive.
The Full Boar console is highly expandable and has multiple USB ports to add an additional 4 universes of DMX outputs via widgets as well as extra playback and programming wings.
The Full Boar also offers Ethernet connections for networking with other consoles for collaboration, redundancy and remote focusing. The Full Boar can also control DP-2000/DP-8000 DMX processors for virtually unlimited channel capacity.

| 01.22.07 DL.2’s Pay Tribute to Mural Artist at Concordia College |

| Description: Moorhead, MN- Concordia College recently produced its 80th Annual Christmas Concert which featured a 425-voice choir and a full orchestra. The event has drawn national attention in recent years and was televised on PBS stations in 2006. Since 1978 the show’s visual centerpiece has been an original mural by liturgical artist David Hetland. Hetland passed away this spring and as a tribute, this year’s concert featured digital slides of his past murals projected on a custom-built screen behind the choirs and orchestra.
Concordia Lighting Director Bryan Duncan selected 6 DL.2 fixtures from Ruehling Associates, Inc. in Minneapolis to project the images onto a 20 foot high by 63 foot wide screen during the concert. Duncan had originally planned to use traditional fixed projectors for the project, but when he saw the capabilities of the DL.2 fixtures running Collage Generator Software, he realized the potential of digital lighting not only for this year’s event, but for future projects as well. “For this year’s concert we kept things pretty simple with no movement and basic cross fades for transitions,” Duncan said. “As event producers on campus see the quality of image projection and the flexibility digital lighting fixtures can provide, I can envision us potentially incorporating this technology in the future. The creative possibilities are really amazing.”
Ruehling Associates not only provided the DL.2 fixtures, but provided a total production service package including system design, content manipulation, programming and on-site operation. Ruehling’s Digital Media Specialist Travis Slyter oversaw the design and programming of the system and assisted Duncan with customizing content. “This was a ground-breaking project in many ways,” Slyter said. “We did a lot of experimenting with image size, resolutions and projector placement. Even though we didn’t move the projectors during the show and only used 1 or 2 layers at a time, the DL.2s provided more control over image attributes, easier projector alignment and simplified media playback than a traditional fixed projector system. Plus we were able to key a video clip of a dove flying over one of the digital slides in real-time within the DL.2 which would have been difficult to do without pre-producing a separate video loop or using a complex video switching system to produce the layering effects we needed.”
The 6 DL.2 fixtures were configured in dual arrays 3 wide x 1 high which were overlaid for brightness and redundancy. Control of the digital fixtures was handled by a Wholehog III Console and a Hog PC system was used during set-up and rehearsals as a wireless remote focus unit. Ruehling’s Andrew Atienza, who serves as the company’s Digital Lighting Technical Support Specialist, traveled on-site to complete programming and operate the system during the show. “The DL.2s performed very well,” said Atienza. “We simply updated the palettes we had pre-built in ½ scale in our showroom to match the full-scale of the venue. The Collage Generator Software combined with the keystoning control of the DL.2s allowed us to compensate for minor differences in throw distances and projection angle without moving projectors or climbing up on a truss to tweak settings. The wireless Hog PC system networked to the Hog III worked great and was very helpful as it allowed me to be close to the stage while fine-tuning the arrays during set-up.”
Content preparation is an important part of digital lighting and Slyter said the success of this project was attributed to collaboration and careful preparation of the media before loading them into the digital fixtures. “It was a team effort and our pre-production work was the key to things going smoothly on-site,” said Slyter. “Bryan had selected about 60 slides from the 6000 photos he had of the murals. Fortunately, the images were very high resolution digital photos or scans. He sent a few images to me, I calculated the pixel count of the collage layout we were using and we sized the images to fit. Consequently when we loaded the stills into the DL.2s and put the fixtures into 3x1 collage mode we were actually showing the images in their native resolution. The increased resolution of the new Collage Generator Software allowed us to keep the images sharp even when spread across three projectors showing very large images. Because we were trying to recreate the murals as accurately as possible, image quality and aspect ratio preservation were crucial. The DL.2s delivered a sharp, vibrant image even from our final throw distance which was about 48 feet.”
Additional support for the project was provided by Ruehling’s service manger Joshua Wood and rental manager Jeff Gallenbeck. Company president and owner Ron Ruehling was excited to see digital lighting introduced to a new market in a unique way. “This project showed the flexibility and image quality of the DL.2s,” said Ruehling. “They are just as impressive producing subtle effects in a theatrical or presentational environment like this as they are in a concert or club application producing special effects. This was a great opportunity to introduce digital lighting to a new community of potential clients.”
Duncan was also very pleased with the results. “We can’t replicate what Dave did, but this allowed us to give people a taste. High End’s equipment allowed us to showcase the intricate details of the murals. It wasn’t just big splashes of paint.”
In addition to the images used during the concert, additional photos were displayed in an automated presentation prior to the performances which ran from December 1-December 3 at the Memorial Auditorium in Moorhead, MN.
